Custom bookcase with flush fitted LED lights, Cologny, Genève

Custom bookcase with flush fitted LED lights. We installed a modern bookshelf in an alcove for a client that wanted a design that stood out from the pre-fabricated/self assembly styles commonly available. We suggested thick exterior & interior uprights as well as LED lights. The design also incorporated a sitting space below the window.

Custom Oak Walk In Wardrobe, Arzier, Vaud

Our clients wanted a natural wood finish walk in wardrobe for the master bedroom. The design comprised six units total in total : four with hanging space & soft close drawers and two shelving units. The shallow shelving unit facing the door has a sliding mirror. The design maximised storage within a small room. Ambient LED lighting was installed to provide a pleasant indirect source of light.

Fitted Cupboards, Crozet, France

Our clients had an unusual and badly lit space in their entrance hall that they wanted to use in a more effective way. We suggested the final fitted cupboard you can see in the photos below that helped make good use of the limited space, maximised storage space as well as ensuring light and brightness were not compromised.

Hayon Inspired Side Table, Confignon

Our client wanted a modern side table with a difference. She was inspired by the Barcelona based modern furniture designer Jaime Hayon and we developed a design together that takes hints from his work. High gloss white finished, turned & spray-lacquered legs, mahogany details on internal drawers, grey glass top.

Ipé balcony table, Servette, Genève

Small balcony table designed to allow 2 people to dine comfortably although the oval shape makes supper for 4 possible. The client wanted a rich, dark & durable hardwood so ipé seemed a logical recommendation. It has a lovely colour & grain pattern and is one of the most resistant woods for outdoor use.

Recovered oak & glass desk, Eaux Vives, Geneva

Modern desk design using recovered oak from a barn in Geneva Canton. Our client commissioned an ecological desk project using recovered timber, in this case oak from a local barn demolition. The brief was for a blend of the rustic oak & modern features in the stainless steel fixings and glass top.

Stage, steps & furniture, Geneva International School, 26’000 CHF, Pregny-Chambesy campus.

Our largest project to date. The Geneva International School wanted a stage for the open central space at the Pregny Campus (child ages 4 to 6). The design was intended to be used principally as an education space to provide teachers with a more interesting and varied area to use. It also allow for small theatre productions at the end of term. Finish in maple with 8 pieces of mobile furniture.

Oak sideboard, Champel, Geneva

Our clients had given considerable thought to the design prior to the commission of the sideboard for their living room. Requirements included natural European oak build throughout with four doors: two sliding and two hinged, but without handles to give a smooth modern look. The dimensions were specific and had to accommodate their high end hi-fi system on one side as well as books/cd’s etc on the other. They wanted linseed oil finish to bring out the natural qualities of this beautiful wood. Finally, the assembly needed to be such that it could be dismantled when they move.

Bespoke Kitchen Units, Genève

Bespoke kitchen unit to replace a poorly fitting and tired looking older unit. Bespoke sizing of cabinet and drawers. Walnut Butcherblock kitchen top and high gloss dark red doors, chrome handles.

Eco Platform Bed, Arzier, Vaud

Our clients wanted an ecological platform bed for their son’s room. The brief asked for natural solid wood build throughout and use of low VOC glues & finishes (Volatile Organic Compounds). The solid woods used are all FSC accredited indigenous hardwoods: bed frame and ladder built with French oak; bookshelf in Swiss beech. We used natural oils to finish the wood and eco-line water based white paint on the visible underside. Natural solid timber makes an ideal material for furniture building if you are concerned about VOC levels in your home, interesting article here on the US Environmental Protection Agency website: http://www.epa.gov/iaq/voc.html

Floating massive oak shelves, Eaux Vives, Geneva

Our clients wanted thick rustic oak shelves but also a “floating” style (i.e. no visible brackets). We use a box construction to achieve this look which reduces the weight considerably (and cost) compared to solid timber.

Ipe Deck, Veyrier, Genève

The deck commissioned by our client in Veyrier was a 35 square metre deck designed to replace a tired pond in front of the house. This presented some minor additional work to fill the pond and ensure the foundation was solid enough to receive a deck that weighs 4.5 metric tonnes when complete. The client had an open mind as to the materiel so we provided a dozen samples and the awesome choice of Ipé was made. This is a beautiful, highly resistant & low maintenance hard wood which we love to work with and strongly recommend for external decks. The high quality treated frame sits on a compacted base and concrete slabs, it will probably last longer than the house!

River Coffee Table, Collonge sous Saleve, France

Photos from our recent commission for a River Coffee Table build inspired by Greg Klassen’s designs. Sipo legs, black fibre board spacer & oak top. 10mm clear tempered table glass.

Sipo bathroom shelves, Grand Saconnex, Geneva

Round Oak Dining Table, Champel, Geneva

Round solid European Oak dining table, 150cm wide, removable solid oak legs. 3rd coat of oil applied & polished, nearly ready for delivery.

Teardrop sink cabinet in jatoba, Vernier, Genève

Small but perfectly formed. Teardrop sink cabinet in jatoba. Our client wanted a small bathroom cabinet to support an unusually shaped washbasin. It was important to her that the design and material stood out from the melamine rubbish most commonly available so we suggested a sculpted shape in jatoba.

High gloss fitted cupboard, Collex Bossy, Genève

Our clients wanted a fitted cupboard that tidied up an end wall space in their basement entertainment room. The sizing of the cupboards had to accommodate a fridge and freezer as well as offering a large amount of additional storage in closed cabinets and open corner shelves. We advised white PVC laminate for the units as they needed to be hard wearing and high gloss door fronts to maximise the brightness. The high gloss finish we order is a high quality Austrian made product, has a very modern look and is extremely resistant.

High kitchen table, Acacias, Genève

Our client wanted a good quality but also inexpensive high kitchen table. We suggested birch plywood with oak trim as it has a much higher quality look and feel compared to the many laminate offerings out there. The table top received a fine grain sanding before a durable linseed oil finish was applied. The client also wanted removable legs so the table is easy to disassemble if she ever moves apartments and the height set at 90cm so it is comfortable height when sat on bar stools.

Deck, Prilly, Vaud

The deck comprises a 38 square metre area on three levels descending comfortably from the rear of the house to the garden. The client chose a beautiful South American hardwood, Ipe, and the deck was built on a solid pine frame with concrete foundation.

Jatoba stair treads, Bellvue, Geneva

Our clients in Bellevue, Genève, wanted timber treads to replace the tired carpet in their newly purchased house. We provided several hardwood samples suitable for a high traffic area like stairs and the clients made a magnificent choice of jotoba.

Music Composers Desk, Acacias, Geneva

A film score music composer commissioned us to produce a high quality desk where he could work that could hold all the technology needed for his craft with a glass panel that allows him to see the piano keyboard below. Desk top in sipo, cabinets in jatoba, tempered glass panel.

Staff Room & Office, Dentist Surgery, Eaux Vives

Our client, a dentist in Eaux Vives, wanted to modernise and improve the staff room and office. We proposed a design combining private lockers with improved & more practical storage with a larger desk set-up designed specifically for the dentists’ and administrators needs. The principal material used was dyed fibre board which provides a striking and modern appearance while also being resistant to regular use.

Oak Coffee Table, Geneva

Oak coffee table top with fabric base to match the sofa material.

Custom fitted cupboard, Les Crets, Geneva

Our client wanted a modern style fitted cupboard to maximise storage space in their studio apartment. We suggested high gloss finish for 3 doors and a fourth mirrored door to maximise brightness. The internal fit-out included click down rails to ensure maximum use of internal space.

Rustic fireplace, Collonges sous Salève, France

Rustic fireplace, Collonges sous Salève, France. Our clients wanted a rustic oak surround & mantle piece to improve an otherwise dull fireplace. We suggested recovered oak for the build and the 200 year old beams recovered from a local barn provide a lovely textured final effect with lots of character.

Whiskey & CD cabinet, Genève

Our clients have a large whiskey & CD collection so were looking for a cabinet that could hide the CDs but make them easily accessible while at the same time being able to support a considerable whiskey collection (50+ bottles). The design we came with fitted the space well, was flush with the sofa and still allowed access to a cupboard on the left.

Teak & Oak balcony table, Genève

Our clients asked us to design a flexible table solution for their small balcony that could sit four people comfortably for dinner in the summer but folded back when the full size was not required. We proposed a 2 part solution where one table was free standing and the second piece slid out and folded away when not in use. The tables were made from an oak frame with teak centre and we used a simple peg system to connect the 2 parts.

Bouldering wall, Geneva

Our clients wanted an indoor bouldering wall (low height climbing training wall) for their apartment. It had to fit into a relatively tight space as well as being aesthetically pleasing as centre piece of the main living room. We suggested oak panels on a pine frame with the important stability for this type of structure provided by solid anchoring in the concrete ceiling. It was set at 30 degree overhang for climbing training and on the left hand (open) side we were able to add 4 bookshelves. The right hand-side opening is concealed by the wall but allowed enough gap to slide the crash mats behind for storage.

Wooden balcony deck, Geneva

Our client wanted to update a tired looking concrete balcony. We suggested a pine deck with weather proof stain providing a warmer and more welcoming feel to the space. The selection of wood was smooth to be comfortable when walked on barefoot.

Office organiser, Geneva

Small bespoke office cupboard on wheels.

Baby changing table, steps & storage, Gland, Vaud

Our client, a creche in Gland, needed a solution for baby changing that made good use of the available space while adding storage and small steps for the children to reduce the amount of lifting the nannies needed to do.
